Can anyone point me in the right direction.
I'm finding it hard to find some business contact details in Adelaide so I can get some quotes on what it may cost me to re design and install new lighting in 3 rooms of my house.
I want to get the hanging light fittings in the centre of 2 rooms removed and replaced with rows of lights sunken up into the ceiling. The Kitchen needs a bit more done in that a row of down lights around 2 sides and a centre oyster fluoro need removing and replacing.
I would prefer to convert the existing lighting to LED lights at the same time as I'm sure I'm replacing energy saving bulbs at near the same rate as incandescent bulbs.

I worked out what I wanted where and just hired an electrician to do it, and a handy man to patch and paint over any left over ceiling holes.
I was replacing very old (1988 vintage) halogen down lights and a batten plug with a bowl type globe over it in a kitchen meals area soon after I bought this house.
There had to be a few on the run mods because of the placement of timber ceiling beams being not quite perfectly even.
I notice at the moment (because I want some more lights replaced) that half the local electricians seem to be away on holiday, and the rest flat out.
For energy saving globes, I buy them at the local Woolworths supermarket and save the docket with the box - GE not Mirabella - the latter have never been any good.
If the GEs don't last 5000 hours or whatever the advertised life is the supermarket replaces them next time I'm there without argument.
(Well, the first time I had to point out hat 5000 hours of use at 5 hours a day is a touch over 2.7 years if used every night - they don't argue now.)
I looked at LEDs but I don't think they are a mature option yet - they seem to be overpriced and offer poor light output/dispersal in large rooms.
But then - I like high levels of ambient light.

Hi H76 ,
I had some electrical work done recently by ADK Electrical ( Andre De Kroon .... 0417 856 894 )

Cheers Big.Boy

I just had my new work done by J-MAC Electrical (Jack McClure 0413 121 598 )
He was prompt, efficient, pleasant, and not expensive compared with some .
I may use him regularly now,as the guy I've used for years is close to retiring and taking more and more time off.

Thanks for your input guys.
Think I will have to work the positions out myself and find a good sparky and then a plasterer.
